We’ve done our research to bring you hot off the press information on the new and soon to be released UiPath features. Our assessment comes directly from engagement with UiPath, researching Uipath articles and documentation linked throughout this article, allowing you to perform your own research if you’re interested in finding out more. The features being discussed include Task Capture, UiPath Insights, Process Mining, and Action Center.
Automation Hub allows business users to submit ideas for automation. The business users answer some high-level questions about their nominated process and nominate the process owner. Once this is done, the idea is given an ”Idea Score”, and other business users can vote on this process.
If this idea is pushed forward to the next stage, the nominated process owner is invited to answer some more detailed questions about the process, and a new score is given. This score details the suitability of the process for robotic process automation (RPA) based on a set criterion.
If the final score is high enough, the nominated process can be approved, and the information is then used as a starting point to map out the current state of the process. The business users can also track the progress and status of their idea submission through the Automation Hub dashboard.
Automation Hub is a handy tool to understand the current state of a process and promotes collaboration, however, it puts the onus on the process owner to map the existing process. Large organisations with many RPA opportunities would benefit the most from Automation Hub.

Task Capture is used primarily by the process owner and allows for a high-level flow diagram to be created based on the process steps that are recorded as they are performed.
The process owner also has the option to map the process out manually by creating these steps as a flowchart along with screenshots and annotations.
Task Capture is quite useful to map out the AS-IS process steps for linear processes, however, it doesn’t take business rules, exceptions and conditions into account. The captured flow chart is at a high level and requires modification to be fully understood.

UiPath Insights is used for analytics and could be considered an advanced Orchestrator dashboard. It provides the end user with notifications, summary charts and business insights, along with analysis prediction using machine learning, allowing the process owner to easily calculate their return on investment (ROI).
The expected benefit is calculated in Automation Hub, which is connected to UiPath Insights to gather the actual benefit and compare the two. It is ideal for benchmarking and can be customized for the end user to display the exact information they are interested in.
UiPath Insights is not yet released (expected in the first quarter of 2020), however, based on the information released so far, UiPath Insights will prove to be a useful introduction for process owners who are interested in identifying the benefits of RPA and their ROI.
More Info:
Process Mining: Process Mining is a tool that documents all steps in the process and shows all variations in the process over a determined amount of time, leading to the understanding of business operations. This is particularly useful to identify trends, patterns and details of a process. It is an impressive tool that does a deep dive analysis of the current state of the process. This one is hard to go into at a high level as there are so many features to it, so we’ll leave the research up to you!
Action Center: For the latest version of UiPath Studio, there is a new option in Orchestrator called ‘Tasks’, which is commonly used when dealing with long-running workflows. If it is an attended process, a list of tasks that require human intervention is listed, with task information such as priority, status, title and more. After the task has been handled by a human, the process picks back up and the task executed. The benefit of Tasks is that it allows tasks to be grouped, prioritised and ‘claimed’ when a human is processing.
End-to-End Process Monitoring is another new feature of Action Center, which offers a scaled down view of logs detailing which processes have been handled at what time in the workflow. This is particularly beneficial for long-running workflows. By summarising robot execution and human intervention, bottlenecks can be identified and rectified, leading to an increase of business efficiency and greater process optimisation.
