A leading wholesale distributor processed vendor statement reconciliations monthly. They wanted to find ways to support their Accounts Payable (AP) team when processing documents.
The solution
We incorporated a RPA bot in the reconciliation process.
- Vendor statements were received by email,
- ABBYY scanned the documents,
- RPA bot created a vendor statement reconcile file,
- Identified the vendor code and company details,
- Logged in the ERP portal,
- Gathered information for the reconciliation,
- Conducted the vendor statement reconciliation,
- Presented the results in an Excel file, and
- An AP officer reviewed and actioned the exceptions found.
The outcomes
- Significant amount of time saved by having a RPA bot do the reconciliation.
